STARS Volunteer Racing Series Set to Invade Wartburg Speedway May 28th
SOMERSET, KY (May 21, 2011)—The STARS Volunteer Racing Series will finish up the month of May with a single stop at Mike Kittrell’s Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, TN on Saturday Night May 28th.
This will be the first-ever visit to Wartburg Speedway, the first of two season visits to the high-banked oval. The series will return to do battle against the STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League on Friday Night July 1st paying $7,500 to win.
Current point leader Eric Jacobsen of Watsonville, California leads the STARS VRS contingent into Wartburg Speedway while holding a 150 point lead over Chip Brindle of Chatsworth, Georgia. Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee is third while Ross White, the defending STARS VRS Rookie of the Year out of Knoxville, Tennessee is fourth in series points and Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, Tennessee is fifth.

Pit Gates open at 3:00 p.m. with Grandstand Gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and Hot Laps being slated for 7:00 p.m. Grandstand Admission will be $15.00 with Tier Parking $20.00 and Pit Passes $30.00.
