UFo Triple Tnt at Hesston on May 29 Is a Late Model Bonanza!

(Mars, PA) – The UFo Race Championship will make its long-awaited debut at the Hesston Speedway on Sunday, May 29. UFo “Triple TnT” will pay $4,000 total to win and $400 total to start for UFo Super Late Models, plus $1,000 to win for LM Sportsman (limited/crate/steel block late models).

UFo “Triple TnT” will showcase 3-25 lap late model features. The UFo Super Late Models will compete in twin 25-lap features with each race paying $2,000 to win and $200 to start. Additionally, the track’s Late Model Sportsman class will race 25 laps for $1,000 and $100 to start. The Pro-Street, Hobby, Mod-4 and Factory-4 divisions will round out the program with bonus money to win for each class.. Hesston track rules will limit a driver to compete in only one division at these events.

DR Ericksen and his crew has been working hard over the off-season with mass improvements on the 4/10 mile supertrack at Motor Mountain. Fans and racers that have not been to Hesston in the last 2 years will be amazed with the changes. 2011 improvements include increased track banking, relocated outside pit area, expanded spectator parking, new turn-1 bleacher seating, new outer pit concessions, new retaining walls and colorful signage.

Ericksen’s goal is to make Hesston a showplace of motorsports in the region and to create a family-friendly atmosphere to experience the high-speed action. UFo “Triple TnT” will be the first major event for the track for the 2011 season and the “Dirt Doctor” has added this additional payoff to the event to make it an all-around 1st-class event.

Hesston will use a unique 2-session format schedule that was previously used at the Challenger Raceway. This split program allows the fans of all divisions to come early and take in all the action, with the late model portion of the program beginning approximately 7:30 after the track is re-prepped. The Pro-Street, Hobby, Mod-4 and Factory-4 divisions will warm-up and compete in their heat races, consolations and/or some features beginning at 5:00 to approximately 7:00 PM. After track prep, the Super Late Model and Late Model Sportsman warm-ups, heats and consolations will begin at approximately 7:30 PM with features for the Super Late Models and some of the other classes following.

Pit gates are scheduled to open at 3:30 PM with grandstand gates at 4:30. Prices for UFo “Triple TnT” will be $18 for grandstands and $15 for junior 10-16. Pit admission will be $35.

UFo Race Championship events have NO car entry fee and NO driver membership fees.

Jared Hawkins of Fairmont, WV leads the UFo Race Championship point standings after winning the first 2 events and is now 1 of 4 drivers that have captured 3 all-time UFo feature victories. Devin Friese of Chambersburg, PA advance to 2nd in the points standings with his 4th place finish at TVR. Keith Barbara of South Park, PA and Jacob Hawkins of Fairmont, WV are tied for 3rd followed by Clate Copeman of Greensburg, PA in 5th. Bob Gordon of Keyser, WV and Matt Lux of Franklin, PA are tied for 6th with Jared Miley of South Park, PA, Danny Mitchell of Clarksburg, WV and definding UFo champion Chad McClellan of Stoystown, PA rounding out the top 10.

The month of June will see 4 UFo Race Championship events starting with the $4,000 to win, $400 to start “King of the Bullring “ at Tyler County Speedway. The following Saturday, June 11, the tour will make its first appearance of 2011 at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway for the $4,000 to win “PENNational.” The $3,000 to win “Chuck Gear Trophy” at the new Elkins Raceway will take place on Friday, June 17.


The UFo Race Championship is an event marketing alliance among independent supertracks in the PA-WV-MD region. Participating speedways presents their own championship Super Late Model events under the UFo banner throughout the season using common tech and procedure rules with a year-end, group funded, point bonus for the top finishing drivers on the tour.
