Wartburg, Tennessee – Wartburg Speedway is ready for the first visit by the STARS Volunteer Racing Series on Saturday, May 28. The $3,000 to win race will bring plenty of action to the ¼-mile bullring.

In its second year of operation, the STARS Volunteer Racing Series has brought a variety of drivers to its races all over the area. Wartburg Speedway’s VRS race should be no different.

Californian Eric Jacobsen won the series’ last race at current leads the series points standings. Jacobsen has indicated he will run for the VRS championship and will be at Wartburg Speedway looking for back-to-back wins. Last year’s VRS rookie of the year Ross White, 2010 Wartburg late model champion Anthony White, Kentucky’s Josh McGuire, and Indiana’s Greg Johnson are some of the drivers expected at Wartburg Speedway.

Also racing will be the open wheel modified division for $800 to win, street stock, sportsman/modified street, modified mini, extreme, and thunder car divisions.

Tickets are just $15 for adults, tier parking is $20, and pit passes are $30. Children’s prices remain unchanged.

Pit gates open at 3:00, grandstand gates open at 5:00, and racing is set to begin at 7:00.
