Hello all,
I am building a Super Street with camaro front clip, tube chassis with 2x4 frame rails. My questions are: 1) When installing the front leaf mounts should I evenly space the mounts out from the driveshaft then the center them between the frame rails. My ford 9in has 2in offset(longer on right side). 2) How far out towards the wheels should the springs be mounted to the axle. Seems to me that they should be evenly spaced and centerd with springs out as far as possible leaving clearance for the tires. Any helpful advise would be appreciated.
Thanks
Larry
PS: With engine/tranny centered in car the left/right 2x4 frame rails are evenly spaced out from tranny output.

got a simaler car,..but have 9inch that is 4 inches longer on left,...ended up finding another rear end to get car right,..2 inches longer on right might work for you tho,..need to keep right side tires in line,...spaceing is tricky'er wider spring will allow less body roll,..an narrow'er will let body roll more,...you can play with angling leafs (clolser front mounts than rear) too for better bit,..see afco's web site lots of great leaf spring tech there!!!good luck

Thanks for the info DWB. One more question, What would be a good mount point for the front spring mounts? I believe I read somewhere that no more than 2in inward, any more would create spring bind.
