Brady Smith Nets First Win of 2011 at Junction Motor Speedway!

(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) The Brady Smith Racing team, following a rough 'Show-Me 100' preliminary night at the Lucas Oil Speedway on Friday, opted to leave the Wheatland, Missouri complex on Saturday, May 28 to compete in an O'Reilly NCRA Late Model Series showdown at the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska. The decision paid off for the #2 team, as Brady Smith claimed his first victory of the young 2011 racing season. After winning his heat race from the tail, Brady rolled off from the pole position in the main event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin native was in control throughout the A-Main to capture the $2,500 payday over Chad Simpson, Jason Rauen, Corey Zeitner, and Al Humphrey.

On Sunday, May 29, the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska played host to the annual 'Alphabet Soup Race.' The Lucas Oil MLRA Series, Corn Belt Clash Series, and O'Reilly NCRA Series all sanctioned the $5,000 to win event. Brady won his B-Main to gain access into the feature event, but was collected in an early wreck and retired in the thirty-first position. Full results from the big weekend in the Cornhusker State can be accessed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

“It felt good to get that first win under our belt,” exclaimed Smith following the busy holiday weekend. “We would have loved to transfer into the Show-Me 100 field to get that CBS television exposure, but things didn’t go our way, so we loaded up and tried our luck at Junction Motor Speedway. It turned out to be a smart decision and our car was awesome all night. Unfortunately, our luck turned back around on Sunday at I-80 when we got collected in an early incident, but we’ll work hard at the shop this week to get our equipment back together!”

The #2 team had plans of traveling east from June 4-10 to compete in the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek mini-series. However, unforeseen crew issues popped up earlier today and Brady has since scrapped those plans to race in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania next week. His next race is currently up in the air.
