racing clutch and flex plate

I purchased an arca truck with some issues... primarily the flex plate on the racing clutch was destroyed and the starer gear is wasted... I've never worked with a racing clutch, always a stock clutch... what is the best method of removal and installation of the clutch and flex plate.. are there any tricks to getting it right to make sure i don't have the same issue as the last guy...

I assume this is a button style clutch? Picture of your setup would help. There is alot of different styles used. What are you calling flexplate? Could it be a flywheel? How many clutch disks?

looks like a plate and gear (what's left of it) from an automatic... 3 disks, red heavy aluminum ring at the tail of the clutch assembly. I will get measurements today and look for a name or part number... the ring gear was ripped off the plate. I'll see if i can get a picture and load it on here
