Bluegrass Speedway Closed June 11; SRRS 10th Annual June Jam Up Next on June 18
Bardstown, KY-June 5, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell will be take off and there will be no racing this Saturday evening June 11 at Bluegrass Speedway, but race action will return on Saturday June 18 for the 10th Annual June Jam, featuring the first-ever appearance of the Southern Regional Racing Series at Bluegrass Speedway for $3,000 to win.
The June 18 racing program will feature the first ever appearance at the track by the Southern Regional Racing Series in a full program of competition for the Super Late Model division, highlighted by the $3,000 to win 10th Annual June Jam event. Also in competition on the June 18 race program will be the Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman racing for $200 to win and the UMP Street Stocks racing for $100 to win, while the Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds will have the night off. For the June 18 event, the Super Late Models and UMP Street Stock divisions will time trial, while the UMP Sportsman will draw for heat race starting positions.
Activities at Bluegrass Speedway for the June 18 event will the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 7:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices for the June 18 event in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, $8 for children ages 6 to 12, and children age 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $30.
Bluegrass Speedway last raced on June 4 and feature event winners included Lee Devasier of Crestwood, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Avral Thompson of Loretto, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Mike Bailey of Clarksville, IN in UMP Street Stocks.
Current track championship point leaders are Lee Devasier of Crestwood, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Robbie Settles of New Hope, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Scott Beeler of Louisville, KY in UMP Street Stocks.
