(AMRA) American Motor Racing Association News Release June 3, 2011

MT. ALTO, WV- Beckley Motor Speedway, Beckley, WV and Natural Bridge Speedway, Lexington, VA have come together for AMRA "Super Weekend" Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11 for a pair of "Federated Racing Fisher Auto Parts 35" modified extravaganza's, featuring the powerful AMRA open wheel modifieds. Although the two tracks are working together in a festive spirit, a sort of "Border Wars" has emerged in what is quickly becoming one of the biggest weekends in AMRA Road Warrior Challenge history; if not one of the biggest in all of open wheel modified racing.
In addition to one of the top notch purses east of the Mississippi, another drawing card is the appearance of NASCAR legend Kenny Schrader, who will participate in the program in his Federated Auto Parts dirt modified. Also billed on the card for Saturday night at Natural Bridge is another Kenny--Kenny Wallace, "The Hermanator", who will also compete in his Federated Auto Modified (only Sat.). The close proximity of the tracks makes the weekend attractive to both racers and fans.
Although Schrader and Wallace are on the Marquis, there is a supporting cast of many of the best open wheel racers in the country, including past and present AMRA stars, and track champions from member AMRA tracks who are committing to the huge race weekend. Top name drivers from outside the AMRA are also showing interest in coming to town to sweep the best of the AMRA. Many bragging rights are at stake.
An attractive addition to the NBS program is that 24 cars will take the green flag for the feature. 18 cars plus the RWT provisional will be the norm at Beckley for a 19-car field.
Friday at Beckley, Eagle Coal, Gerald Stokes/West Star Management of Beckley, WV and Vondy Brunty have sweetened the pot as race sponsor, elevating the Beckley purse to $1,200 to win and $175 to start, a total feature pay-out of $6170. Also, there will be a "Dash for Cash" paying $100 to win, featuring the six heat race winners. Racers will have to race their way into the dash and their finish will determine the starting line-up for the feature.
A similar "Dash for Cash" has been added at Natural Bridge where Erwin Racing Supply is sponsoring the $100 to win dash; and Brett Hamilton Enterprises is sponsoring the race hard-charger to the tune of $100. In addition, the NBS race will pay $1,500 to the winner, $200 to start in the first-ever appearance of the Road Warriors at the thriving speed-plant.
Both races are 35 lap features with one (1)- lap qualifying, a fast car dash, qualifying heats, and at least one B-main. The evening will culminate with the "Federated Racing Fisher Auto Parts 35" features.
