K-C to host $5 Fan Appreciation Night
Announces Redraw Procedures

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-This Saturday night, June 11 is $5 night at Schraders’ K-C Raceway where “Fan Appreciation Night” will be observed. Special offers including the great savings in admission hopes to bring back the family atmosphere to one of the nation’s most highly touted speedways.
Besides the $1,500 to win/$250 start payout in the 410 sprints, each driver of the Top 10 finishers in the A Main of the Sprint feature will also get a FREE Goodyear tire.
Schrader’s K-C Raceway, in an effort to make racing more competitive for the fans, will implement a new re-draw format for classes that take time trials. This week, June 11, both the Goodyear 410 Sprint Cars and Advanced Services AMRA Modifieds will take time trials. Hobby Stocks will pill draw and will not be a part of the qualifying or redraw this week.
To make racing more interesting, on unsanctioned, regular race-night shows the Open Wheelers will qualify on 410 Sprint night (sprints and modifieds). On the nights Late Models race, the Hobby Stocks and Late Models will qualify and the Modifieds would not. On given nights only open wheel cars qualify and on the other given nights only full bodied cars will time trial.
Said owner Jeff Schrader, “Back in the pack we have had the typical 2 or three-wide racing that K-C is known for. A couple times the top five cars, however, checked out. Our fans have overwhelmingly asked that we have some type of invert. They want to see passing. They want to see someone come from back in the pack. They want to see good racing. We hope the new system brings that.”
“Besides fine tuning the great racing K-C already has to offer, this also gives our Modified drivers a chance to qualify, and in getting to do so, put them on equal ground with drivers that are used to qualifying for Road Warrior shows or the DTWC,” said Race Director Scott Wolfe. “That one lap can make or break our drivers in the big show and that was something we wanted to address.”
“It’s the best of both worlds really. Those who qualify well can hone their talents and try to earn a good starting spot. On pill draw nights it’s the luck of the draw and the fast guy might be on the tail.”
This also holds true for the Hobby Stock drivers, who occasionally will get a chance to qualify.
“I have always said that our K-C Modified drivers and our Hobby Stock drivers are among the best in the nation. They can race with anybody,” added Wolfe.
“In the sprint car and late model ranks, over the years we have seen our guys graduate to the All-Stars or the World of Outlaws. Additionally, we have many truly great drivers that choose to just run locally and support us every week. We have a lot of talented guys racing here. If you strap on the helmet and buckle up at K-C, you’ve got guts and have earned my respect.”
The heat races will invert the top four positions in each heat. In other words the fast qualifier would start fourth in the first heat. The second fast qualifier would start fourth in the second heat, etc.
The feature redraw will typically be six cars, but if there is an extremely large field then up to, but no more than eight cars will redraw. (See format below)
“Logically, if a guy wins the first heat and passed all the cars in his heat, then odds are he will stay in front of them in the feature,” said Schrader. “This still could happen, but there is a one in six chance that same driver will have to at least pass someone. This is what we hope for.”
We will have to print out the initial line-up according to heat finishes then manually write in the re-draw.

Only redraws will be on classes that qualify.
