Mars, PA) – The UFo Race Championship continues its march through 2011 with two upcoming well-established events. The “PENNational” at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on Saturday June 11 will pay $4,000 total to win and the “Chuck Gear Trophy” at Elkins Raceway on Friday, June 17 will pay $3,000 to win.
The UFo Super Late Models will make their 1st 2011 appearance at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on Saturday , June 11 for the “PENNational”. The UFo Super Late Models will race in twin 28-lap features for $4,000 total to win and $350 total for 24th. Non-qualifiers will be paid $150. The twin feature format always provides spectacular racing on the wide ˝ mile and distributes the winnings more evenly among race teams. John Flinner of Zelienople PA and Mike Johnson of Imperial, PA spilt the wins in the 2010 version.
The UFo “PENNational” will also be Colussy Chevrolet Night, where fans can see the newest Chevrolet models form the Bridgeville dealer. The FASTRAK Pro-Lates will pay $550, E-mods $450 and Cadets $350. The Hobby & Young Guns will also be on the schedule. The raindate for the UFo "PENNational" will be Sunday, June 12.
The payoff for the UFo Super Late Models at the “PENNational” at PPMS is (each race pays ˝): 1st-$4,000 2nd-$2,000 3rd-$1,400 4th-$1,000 5th-$800 6th-$700 7th-$600 8th-$550 9th-$525 10th-$500 11th-$475 12th-$450 13th-$440 14th-$425 15th-$400 16th-$390 17th-$375 18th-$375 19th-$375 20th-$375 21st-$350 22nd-$350 23rd-$350 24th-$350 $150 paid to all cars that DNQ that make 1 lap on the track under their own power. UFo Race Championship events have NO car entry fee and NO driver membership fees.
Gates open at 5:00 with warm-ups at 6:00 and racing at 7:00 PM. Grandstand admission is $20 seniors $19, junior 13-16 $10, child 7-12 $5. Pit admission is $35.
UFo will return to the new Elkins Raceway on Friday, June 17 for the “Chuck Gear Championship.” The 41-lap UFo Super Late Model feature will pay $3,000 to the winner and $300 to start plus $150 to non-qualifiers. The 1st spectacular fireworks display in the region will also take place at intermission.
Elkins Raceway was the site of 1 UFo landing in 2009, which generated one of the best races in the history of the tour. After 9 amazing lead changes, Gary Dalton of Morgantown WV was the winner of the UFo “Armstrong Classic” at Elkins over Matt Lux of Franklin, PA and Billy Holbert of Fairmont, WV. The new management team has already established Elkins as the premier Friday night track in the state in 2011.
The FASTRAK Pro-Lates, AMRA E-mods, Street Stocks, Mod-Lites and junior-age Mini-Wedges will also be in competition at the UFo “Chuck Gear Trophy.” Gates will open at 5:00 PM with warm-ups at 7:30 and racing at 8:00 PM

Devin Friese of Chambersburg, PA has taken control of the UFo points race after the event at Tyler County last weekend. Jared Hawkins of Farimont, WV trails by only 5.5 points. Keith Barbara of South Park, PA holds 3rd, 8 points behind Hawkins. Jared Miley of South Park is in 4th with defending champion Chad McClellan of Stoystown, PA in 5th. Quintin Wyandt of Hooversville, PA, Matt Dobnak of West Mifflin, PA, Danny Mitchell of Clarksburg PA, Jacob Hawkins of Fairmont, WV and Bob Gordon of Keyser, WV round out the top 10.
