Gregg Satterlee Travels the Appalachian, Returns Home for Win

Rochester Mills, PA (June 13, 2011) ‘The Truth’, Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, PA spent the first full week of June on the road with the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Series presented by CenturyLink as they traveled to seven different facilities in seven nights from Saturday, June 4 to Friday, June 10.

The week got off to a slow start for the Satterlee Racing Team as Gregg was unable to transfer to the first two $5,000 to-win feature events at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD and Winchester Speedway in Winchester, VA. Gregg’s week got a little better on Monday, June 6 at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, PA with a 19th place finish in the main event. Gregg followed that finish with another 19th place finish at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA on Tuesday, June 7. A 23rd place finish on Wednesday, June 8 at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA preceded a night were Gregg was unable to qualify for the main event at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, PA on Thursday, June 9.

Satterlee’s misfortune and unexpected results during the Speedweek sent Gregg to Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA on Friday, June 10 instead of the originally planned Speedweek finale at Bedford Speedway. The decision paid off as Gregg dominated the $1,500 to-win DIRTcar Late Model feature at ‘The Action Track’ holding off 2010 track champion Dave Hess Jr. and Jared Miley. The win was Gregg’s second of the 2011 season at Lernerville and third overall. On Saturday, June 11, Satterlee made his way to Marion Center Speedway in Marion Center, PA for their weekly show. Gregg advanced to second in the final rundown after starting in the fifth slot.

Gregg and his Gregg Satterlee Racing team will be in action this upcoming Friday, June 17 at Lernerville Speedway for their Mid-Season Championship and a shot at a guaranteed starting spot in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned ‘Firecracker 100’ presented by Gotta Race at the end of the month. Saturday’s plans are undecided right now but check the schedule page at www.greggsatterlee.com to find out where Gregg will be on June 18.
