CARTERSVILLE, GA – Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS, the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion and current West Region point leader, grabbed his fourth win of the season on Friday night in the first of two feature races at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS driving the H.E. Mosley, Inc. Trak-Star.

McDuffie followed that up with a second-place finish in the second NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region feature race to bring his West Region leading point total to 537. McDuffie has four wins, ten top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 12 starts to hold a 40-point lead over Randy Boyd of Marion, MS.

Boyd picked up his first win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Meridian Coca-Cola Trak-Star. Boyd has 497 points with one win, five top fives and seven top tens in ten starts to hold down the second spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point standings.

Boyd leads a logjam of drivers in the top ten of the West Region standings with just 63 points separating second through tenth. Justin McRee of Tuscaloosa, AL is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 480 points in the Century Dedicated, Inc. Trak-Star, and Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is fourth with 478 points driving the Stockstill Trucking Trak-Star.

Landon Frith of Terry, MS moved up to the fifth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 475 points after taking his first win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Touch of Class Body Shop Special.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region standings with 466 points, Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS is seventh with 456 points, Tim Dees of Meridian, MS is eighth with 450 points, Tony Lawson of Laurel, MS is ninth with 441 points, and Daniel Bridgeman of Meridian, MS rounds out the top ten in the West Region standings with 431 points.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Week 11 action, Travis Ashley of Batesville, AR picked up a pair of wins driving the Bad Boy Mowers GRT. Ashley took his third win of the season on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR on Friday night, and his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR.

Alex Ashley of Hattiesburg, MS won the second feature race on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park driving the Ashley Racing Special. Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR did not report their Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region results.

Although the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region event at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL was rained out on Saturday night, TST regulars still hold down the top three spots in the OMG East Region point standings.

Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region standings with 550 points based on three wins and eight top five finishes in 11 starts driving ADP Special to hold a 34-point lead over second-place Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL, who has 516 points. Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL is third with 504 points.

Doug Ludwig of Grantville, GA moved up to the fourth spot with 491 points after a second-place finish on Saturday night at New Senoia Speedway in Senoia, GA driving the Ludwig Racing GRT. Russ Ogletree of Phenix City, AL finished third at New Senoia Raceway on Saturday night to move up to the fifth spot in the OMG East Region standings with 479 points.

Kevin Maher of McDavid, FL and Chris Griffin of Flomaton, AL, regulars at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, hold down the sixth and seventh spots respectively in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region standings. Maher has 470 points and Griffin has 465 points.

Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region standings with 459 points followed by Trey White of Jenkinsburg, GA with 430 points, and Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL rounds out the top ten with 402 points.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region Champion Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL picked up his third OMG East Region win of the season on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL driving the Edge’s Gas Company Special.

Edge is running a limited NeSmith Chevrolet WRS schedule this season, as he is running the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Tour where he is sixth in the point standings and leads the VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year point standings.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region Week 11 action, Shep Lucas of McKenzie, AL drove the Lucas Farms Trak-Star to his second win of the season on Saturday night Flomaton Speedway and Tod Darda of LaGrange, GA grabbed his second win of the season on Saturday night at New Senoia Raceway driving the PW Performance GRT.

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region Week 12 competition will begin on Thursday night at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN with a special 30-lap $1,500-to-win race. For more information visit the 411 Motor Speedway web site at www.411motorspeedway.net.

The defending and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL continues to lead the 2011 point standings with 27 wins. Trak-Star picked up three wins in Week 11 from McDuffie, Boyd and Lucas.

Three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR kept pace with Trak-Star in Week11 with two wins from Travis Ashley and a win from Darda. GRT Race Cars is second in the point standings with 24 wins this season.

Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge point standings with nine wins, and Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth with one win.

Also participating in the 2011 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge are TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN and Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN. Both chassis brands are still looking for their first NeSmith Chevrolet WRS win of the season.
