Hey all. I was wondering what some setup adjustments would be to make a 4 bar car go forward more when the track starts to dry up. My car handles great but when the track starts to burn off, i just cant seem to go forward anymore. What are some adjustments that i could do?

The question would have to be Why?? Is it breaking traction and lighting up the tires? Is it getting too loose?

first thing i have always been told is you need to be smoother on and off the throttle.

when it goes dry slickfor our LM we soften our rf spring 25-50lbs, and soften both rear springs 25 lbs.

as far as the bars, we raise the LR upper on the frame and drop the RR upper on the frame. also, you can lower the RR bottom rode on the frame, but we try not to go more than a couple degrees past level.

we have also dropped our gear ratio. go say from a 583 to 535....but we have a quickchange. alot simpler to change gears.

Yeah it just seems like the car is way too loose and i cant get it to stay straight enough to keep the rear tires from breaking loose.

Do you have any trail in rr?

try a little more gear if the track slows down to a significant degree. Then work with throttle positioning (lower on the throttle pedal side). Back off the timing at the distributor. Turns on the LR and RF and turns off the LF and RR. A little more panhard rake...and be calm.

I have my birdcage on the left rear set back about two degrees, do you think that could maybe be the problem?

Left rear bottom bar down on the chassis, try one hole at first. This will allow you to get more traction from the center off on the gas and will not really affect the entry to center.
