With the closest points battle and most exciting Triple Crown in series history still fresh on our minds, the FASTRAK Racing Series now turns to the southern borders of the SE region for stop # 6 for the elite pro late model tour. Lee Cooper’s Triple Crown achievement has vaulted him to the pinnacle of the championship standings. David Smith and Brandon Umberger, who each claimed Triple Crown event wins, are both in position to take the lead away from Cooper as they trail the Greer, SC native by two and six points respectively.
While Hartwell Speedway is no stranger to hosting both FASTRAK weekly and touring events, the 2011 tour stop at the exciting clay oval could be very pivotal in the 2011 championship race. Neither of our top three championship contenders compete at the facility on a regular basis. It could be the most unpredictable event as well as a host of local talented teams in and around the Hartwell are set to defend their home turf against the touring regulars.
The Super 8 in Lavonia, GA is conveniently located off of Exit 173/Interstate 85 and will serve as the host hotel for this event. Teams are encouraged to book ASAP using the code “FASTRAK” as rooms will quickly go at the $49.99 rate! Reservations can be made by calling 706-356-8848
