STARS MDRL/STARS VRS and SRRS set for Battle on Friday July 1st in Wartburg, Tennessee
SOMERSET, KY (June 20, 2011)—The STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League will begin a busy month of July and a ultra-busy Fourth of July Weekend by opening on Friday Night July 1st with a $5,000 to win / $500 to start event. This event is triple-sanctioned with the STARS’ sister group the STARS Volunteer Racing Series and now the Southern Regional Racing Series has recently been added to the lineup at the Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, Tennessee.
The STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League is hosting its third event of its Freshman season and lone appearance to the 1/3 Mile Wartburg Speedway which is located just off Highway 27 outside of Wartburg, TN. This will be the second appearance by the STARS VRS tour with Anthony White of Clinton, TN claiming victory back on May 28th. The event will feature the Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) payout and format. Officials from each of the STARS MDRL, STARS VRS and SRRS will be handling race direction that night as procedures from the each of the tours are identical.
The tire rule for the event will be as follows: Open Front and Rear: Hoosier LM40/1600 or American Racer MD-56 with those tires punching 60 before hitting the racing surface. The Super Late Model entry fee that night is $100 and Transponder Rental Fee will be $20.00.
That night will feature the SRRS Group Qualifying/Lock-In and run Heats format with 18 cars coming from qualifying heats and then 6 provisionals making up the 24-car field with each the STARS MDRL, STARS VRS and SRRS having 2 series points starting provisionals. Each car that doesn’t make the field will receive the $50.00 Tow Money,
On Friday July 1st a huge Fireworks display will light up the sky during intermission. Also on the racing docket that night will be the Mod Mini, Open Wheels, Street and Extreme divisions. Pit Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with Grandstand Gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and Hot Laps slated for 7:15 p.m. with all times Eastern. Grandstand Admission will be $20.00 with Tier Parking $25.00 and Pit Passes $35.00.
