COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Cajun Nation Invasion This Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (06/21/11) – Seeking a reprieve from the weather the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) will return to action this weekend for a double shot in Louisiana.

The series was last in action two weeks ago on June 10th-11th, and after a great show at Malden Speedway (Malden, Missouri) on Friday night, where Wendell Wallace got his first win of the year, the tour was rained out on Saturday night at NEA Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas). The tour has now had five events this season impacted by weather.

Kyle Beard continues to lead the latest tour standings over Johnny Virden, Jon Mitchell, and Brandon Smith. Positions six through ten in the standings include Billy Moyer Jr., Curtis Cook, Austin Rettig, Shane Harris, and Gary Christian.

The Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle is currently being led by Vilonia, Arkansas' driver Curtis Cook with Shane Harris, Keith Lawson, and Ian Samuel in pursuit.

Other drivers expected to possibly be in action this weekend include Allen Murray, Dewaine Hottinger, Ray Moore, Jeff Sloan, Morgan Bagley Terry Henson, Wesley Crutchfield, Clay Fisher, BJ Robinson, and more.

On Friday night, June 24th the CCSDS tour will invade USA Speedway (Sterlington, Louisiana) with a $2,000 to win/$300 to start, 35 lap event. The first scheduled event at the facility for this season was postponed by Mother Nature. In 2010 Bill Frye and Jesse Stovall claimed victories with the tour at the 1/4 mile oval. Joining the CCSDS Super Late Models on the program will be Limiteds, B-Mods, Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Compacts, and Legneds. Gates open at 5pm with racing action at 8pm. Adult grandstand tickets are $15 with senior citizens (60 & Up) $13, while children 6-12 years of age are $10, and 5 & under are free. Pit passes are $30 for adults with kids 10 & under $15. Saturday night, June 25th will see the series make its inaugural trip to Gene Boyter's, Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) for a $2,000 to win/$400 to start, 35 lap event. The high-banked, 1/4 mile oval sees the return of Super Late Models for the first time in 2011 since the incredible show at the Pelican 100 back in February. A complete weekly racing series will accompany the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series. The pit gate opens at 4:30pm, with grandstands gates opening at 5:30. Hot laps are slated for 7pm with racing action at 7:30pm. In addition, there will be a race car display and a driver meet and greet in Bossier City, Louisiana from 8:30am to 10:30 m at Albertsons Grocery Store (3121 East Texas Street).
