Rake adds roll resistance to the back of the car. Rake makes the rear get loaded more heavily for the same amount of chassis roll.

It is my understanding it will get you up on the bars quicker with more rake and help plant the RR for more side bite. Is that correct?
rake is set by ride height, depending what front cross member you have, I believe you have the square tube one, the ride heights are 3 5/8 lf 3 1/2 rf 6 1/8 rr 2 inch cars IIRC

VMS it depends on what you are referring too.
if you are talking about jbar rake, we run anywhere from 6-10". but that will depend on your chassis manufacturer's specs. but a good place to start is usually 6-7"
if you are talking about chassis rake, your ride heights should set that for you, or get you really close. our chassis actually has arrows welded into the frame rails where we are supposed to measure. normally it is the front and back of the right side frame rail to my understanding.
we set our ride heights then measure our rake. at ride height it is just barely shy of 2"
i am talking about j-bar. I measure from center bolt to center bold down. I got like 9, started at 12.
As for ride heights its kind of up in the air since the car is so old there ain't any documents saying with they should be. But I usally set it at 01 model. Yes it is a square tube chassis
