The Southeastern Latemodel Sportsman, one of the most popular Touring Series in the South East......Will invade the Fast 3/8 Mile Laurens County Speedway....."Saturday Night July,2nd".... The "Men Of Steel" will be competing in a $1,500 to win....$100 to start (35 lap) Feature Event. There will be a ($60) Entry Fee for this event. (SLMS) Drivers will qualify to determine the line up for their Feature event. Consi races or last chance races will be ran if needed.
Drivers from Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina are expected to gather at the "Darlington Of Dirt" known as the Laurens County Speedway. The "Big Boys" who follow the Series are ready for their inaugural visit to the Historical Laurens Speedway, so make plans now to join us "Saturday Night July,2nd" to see who will be sitting in Victory Lane!!
Drivers expected to be here are Defending Champion & current points leader Parker Herring / Wesley English / Kenny Collins / Bubba Russell / Mack English / Jimmy Feltman / Justin Sims / Charlie Parker / Daniel Wilson / David McCoy / Jimmy Ivester / Jeff Crowder / Brad Rachels and several more of the finest Steel Head Latemodel drivers in the local area's.
The Crate Latemodels can run with the Series...."604" can weigh (2200lbs) and run a full (12 inch) Rear Spoiler. The "602" can weigh (2100lbs) and run the (12 inch) Rear Spoiler. Highest finishing Crate Latemodel also recieves an extra $100.
Spoiler Rule For Crate Latemodels:
B. Cars with GM (602 & 604) Engines may utilize (run) a 12" Rear Spoiler
(1.)... Rear spoiler material maximum twelve-inch (12) height
602 & 604 crate motor measured from deck to tip of
material. Maximum seventy-two inch (72) width.
(2.)... Rear spoiler is not permitted to be suspended above the deck to create a
wing effect.
(3.)... Rear spoiler must begin where quarter panels end. No extended decks
permitted.
(4.)... Maximum of three (3) rear spoiler supports. Option of two (2) additional
one inch (1) aluminum braces.
(5.)... Spoiler supports cannot be mounted wider than the top of the quarter
panel.
Tire Rule for Series reads
Tires:
A. Any Hoosier Spec or Crate Tire Permitted.
B. Cutting & Grooving Permitted
C. Any Hoosier Permitted on Right Rear..(Right Rear Only!!) (No Hoosier 1200 spec are permitted, this includes on the right rear)
D. Any Open Tire Found at any other corner will mean automatic disqualification.
E. No Extra Weight required for cutting and Grooving!
F. No Hoosier 1200 spec are permitted
