The Independence Day Championship, scheduled for tonight, July 4, at the Tri-County Race Track has been rained-out. A few pop-up showers came through the Brasstown, North Carolina area during the afternoon, but track officials were ironing in the racing surface when a serious thunderstorm - with high winds and damaging lightning - struck around 5:30 local time.
