Just a quick question; the location of the 5th coil is measured from the centerline of the rear end (center of axle to center of lower shock bolt) - right?

Moving the shock back (towards the rear end) will give the car more "instant" traction off the corner, but less later in the straight - right?

Thanks

that is how we measure ours. and you are correct about how the traction should come into play with shorter vs longer measurements.

we have noticed that when we mount the top of the shock back about an 1/8th" it seems to allow the shock to act in a more repeatable manner time after time. not sure why it works or what they theory is behind it. but we had a shock go bad one night and burrowed a shock from another guy at our track and he was nice enough to help us put it in and when he did he noticed we had it straight up and down and he said he has always put his tilted with the top towards the rear of the car so we tried it. car seemed more consistent while under breaking.

does anyone have feedback as to why this might be? or what your practice is to do?
