CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 14 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season saw changes among the top ten in the Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region, as Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL used 25 Regional Bonus points to move within five points of point leader Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL.

Elkins has 671 points with three wins, and nine top five finishes in 12 races driving the ADP Special. Gauldin has 666 points, three wins, ten top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 13 races driving the Adam Gauldin Racing GRT. Gauldin got his bonus points by competing in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring event on Saturday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL

Doug Ludwig of Grantville, GA and Kevin Maher of McDavid, FL also moved up in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) point standings to third and fourth respectively. Ludwig finished used a top five finish on Saturday night at New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA to bring his total up to 637 points.

Maher drove the Maher Motorsports GRT to his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL to bring his total up to 615 points. Flomaton Speedway opens Week 15 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region competition on Monday night with a $1,000-to-win main event.

Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL is fifth in the OMG East Region standings with 612 points and Russ Ogletree of Phenix City, AL is sixth with 590 points. Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is seventh with 547 points, and Chris Griffin of Flomaton, AL is eighth with 534 points.

Trey White of Jenkinsburg, GA is ninth with 504 points and Ken Pate of Pell City, AL rounds out the top ten of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region standings with 465 points.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Old Man’s Garage (OMG) East Region action, Matt Dooley of Brooks, GA took his second straight win on Saturday night at New Senoia Raceway driving the RSD Enterprises Rocket.

Travis Ashley of Batesville, AR had a big holiday weekend in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region competition posting two wins and a second-place finish in three starts driving the Bad Boy Mowers GRT.

Ashley took his sixth win of the season on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, and his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at NEA Speedway in Harrisburg, AR. Ashley rounded out the weekend with a second-place finish on Sunday night at Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR.

The only thing keeping Ashley out of the top ten of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point standings is all but two of his 15 starts this season have come with car counts of seven or less that only award 40 points to win.

Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS still leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 709 points based on four wins, 14 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 16 starts driving the H.E. Mosley, Inc. Trak-Star. The 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region Champion finished second on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

McDuffie picked up another 25 Regional Bonus Points on Saturday night for four straight weeks of perfect attendance at Whynot Motorsports Park and now has a 71-point lead over Landon Frith of Terry, MS, who has 638 points with two wins, nine top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes driving the Touch of Class Body Shop Special.

Frith has a two-point advantage over the third-place driver Randy Boyd of Marion, MS, who has 636 points. Justin McRee of Tuscaloosa, AL is fourth with 625 points, and Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS is fifth with 624 points. Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS is sixth with 619 points and Tim Dees of Meridian, MS is seventh with 599 points.

Lamar Furr of Hollandale, MS and Daniel Bridgeman of Meridian, MS are tied for the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 583 points apiece. Chandler Petty of Austin, AR moved up to the tenth and final points fund paying spot with 582 points.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Week 14 action, Mason Oberkramer of Malden, MO took his second win of the season on Friday night at Malden Speedway in Malden, MO driving the Oberkramer Racing Special. Duke Palasini of Leland, MS posted his fifth win of the season on Friday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the Palasini Farms Special.

Roger Witt of Batesville, AR grabbed his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR driving The Chrome Shop GRT. Mike Boland of Cuba, AL drove The Strength Center Trak-Star to his second straight win on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.

There were two first time winners in Week 14 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region competition. Jake Knight of Georgetown, MS took his first win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Got Dirt, Inc. Trak-Star.

Dallas Everett of Beebe, AR was a first-time winner on Sunday night at Centerville Speedway in the Marple Auto Sales GRT. NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Sunday night action at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS was rained and rescheduled for Monday night. Regional points from that event will count toward Week 15 totals.

Wins from Maher, Ashley with two, Witt, and Everett added five wins to the leading total of three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR at 38 wins this season.

GRT Race Cars now has a five point lead over defending and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL, who had Week 14 wins from Boland and Knight to bring their season total to 33 wins.

Dooley posted the 12th win of the season for Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV, who is third in the 2011 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge standings. Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge standings with one win.

Also participating in the 2011 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and still looking for their first win of the season are TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN and Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN.
