Jake Griffin Wins Again in ULMA Late Model Action

Quincy, Illinois (07/06/11) – On Saturday night, 12 year-old, Jake Griffin added another accolade to his already impressive list of accomplishments by winning his second ULMA Late Model feature of the year.

With a busy holiday weekend schedule on tap, the team returned to action on Friday night at Callaway Raceway (Fulton, Missouri) in both the ULMA Late Model Series and UMP Open Wheel Modified division. In the UMP Open Wheel Modified division, Jake would race his way to a strong sixth place finish in the twenty-three car field. In the ULMA Late Model division Jake would break the rear end, while running in the sixth position in the feature. Full results are available at www.CallawayRaceways.com.

Jake entered the ULMA Late Model Triple Crown at Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri) on Saturday night, and when the dust settled on the night, Jake stood in victory lane with his second win of the 2011 season!

After finishing second in his heat race, Jake started second in the main event. He would quickly race his way to the lead and never looked back on his way to the feature win, which came over Tommy Cordroy, Justin Jennings, Danny Lorton, and (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) Weber.

Griffin also took part in the UMP Open Wheel Modified portion of the show. He would win his heat race to start tenth in the feature. He was working his way through the pack, when he was taken out on the third lap, and had to head pitside for a tire change. After rejoining the field in the 17th position, he would drive through the field to record an 8th place finish. Overall it was a great night for the team!
