Bub McCool Sponsors Smithfield Tornado Relief at Magnolia This Weekend

Vicksburg, MS (07/06/11) – Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitor, Bub McCool, will be in action this weekend in his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)ens Racing Engine Super Late Model at Magnolia Motor Speedway, and not only will he be chasing the $20,000 payday, but he will also be looking to raise as much money as possible for the Smithfield, Mississippi tornado victims.

Even though Bub is from Mississippi, he has only had the opportunity to race in his home state on a couple of opportunities in 2011, due to his obligations on the LOLMDS tour. This weekend, July 7th-9th, McCool looks to take advantage of his homecoming to help his fellow Mississippians. Smithfield, Mississippi received devastating damage from an EF-5 tornado on Wednesday, April 27th. The loss of life and property was overwhelming, but the community is staying strong as they rebuild.

McCool Motorsports will do their part to help at Magnolia Motor Speedway as they will sponsor a fundraiser at their souvenir trailer in the grandstand area. Three bins full of various Bub McCool merchandise, MSR Mafia merchandise, and other items will be labeled with $5, $10, and $20 tags. For each donation that an individual makes for that denomination they get to choose an item out of a bin. There will also be silent auctions for door panels. All money raised goes to the Smithfield, Mississippi Recovery Fund.

This weekend's event at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) will be sanctioned by the LOLMDS tour, and will be headlined by a $20,000 to win, 100 lap feature. The weekend opens with an Open Practice Session on Thursday night. Friday will see time trials and heat race action, while Saturday night's event will see b-mains and the 100 lap feature contested. The Speed TV cameras will be on hand to catch all of the action for a future broadcast. For more information, please visit www.LucasDirt.com and www.MagnoliaDirt.com .

Last weekend it was back to action on Saturday night for Bub as he entered the $10,000 to win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio). With 50 Super Late Models entered into the event Bub finished third in his heat race to earn the 11th starting spot for the main event. He would mount a strong run in the feature to record a sixth place finish behind race winner, Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson Jr., Tim Dohm, and John Blankenship.

On Sunday night the LOLMDS tour invaded Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) as once again 50 Super Late Models entered the $10,000 to win event. After missing the transfer to the feature in his heat race by one spot, McCool would be forced to run a b-main. In the b-main, he would race his way to a second place finish to earn the 20th starting spot for the 50 lap feature. During the course of the feature, he would advance three spots to finish in the 17th position in the 27 car grid. Full results and series' standings are available at www.LucasDirt.com.
