“ADRA LATE MODELS at SOS for Grand Re-Opening Southern Showdown”
Apple Grove, WV. July 4, 2011~ The ADRA Dirt Late Model Championship Series (www.adraracing.net) presented by Suddenlink Communications (www.suddenlink.com) will be at the legendary Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, OH on Friday night July 15th for the Southern Ohio Speedway Grand Re-Opening and the return of the infamous “Southern Showdown”. There will 2 special events featured in 1 evening with the ADRA Late Models and the Southern Ohio Speedway Modifieds going 30 laps each and both divisions will be battling for $3000 to win! Two great purses for 2 great races! This Grand Re-Opening event certainly will be a “showdown” as top notch drivers in both divisions from all over the region are expected to attend. www.southernohiospeedway.com)
“Hot Rod” Rod Conley out of Wheelersburg, OH. who wheels the #71R Draime powered Rocket is the ADRA Dirt Late Model Championship Series current point’s leader. Conley won the ADRA Late Model inaugural event at Moler Raceway Park on May 20th as 30 of the region’s best Late Model drivers squared off for 30 blistering laps of side by side dirt racing action in front of a record crowd. Young gun, Tyler “The Kamikaze Kid” Carpenter would edge out the “Salt Rock Express” Eddie Carrier Jr., who made a late charge to the front, for the 2nd spot. All 3drivers and many more are expected for the “Showdown”.
“We are really excited about the Southern Showdown", stated SOS co-promoter T. J. Layne. "This will be a great event for the fans as they get to see the ADRA Late Models as well as one of the biggest Modified races in the region. Having the Modified special should actually bring us in some more Late Models with drivers pulling double duty. I think fans will be in for a treat with two big special events on one night."
The Racers In Christ Ministry will be on hand for this historical weekend as well. Be sure to check out their jump house, pick up some souvenirs for the kids, and grab a RIC or ADRA T-shirt.
