July 9 Marks the Return of the Carolina Clash to 311 Speedway

The stars of the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series will be making their return visit to 311 Speedway on Saturday, July 9 in a newly scheduled $4,000 to win feature race. The race will mark the second trip of the 2011 racing season for the 12 year old series to 311 Speedway.
“311 Speedway is a beautiful facility that produces great side by side racing,” said Carolina Clash President Larry Lee Jr. “Our first trip to 311 this year produced tremendous racing and we will be looking for much of the same on July 9.”
Luke Roffers will be coming into 311 Speedway with a 1 point lead over defending 2010 Carolina Clash Point’s Champion Dennis Franklin. Franklin was able to capture the victory on June 4 during the Carolina Clash first event at 311.
Chad Paxton still sits atop the Klotz Rookie of the Year standings over the new kid on the block, Travis Yow.
“The Rookie class this year is tough,” said Chad Paxton “It’s my first time visiting most of these tracks but were learning a lot and will be contention for a win during the second half the season.”
In the Carolina Clash first appearance at 311 Speedway in 2011, Dennis Franklin was able to motor his way to victory lane for his first win in over a year with the series. Randy Weaver from Tennessee also made the long trip worth his while earning a second place finish in his first ever appearance with the Carolina Clash in his first race at 311 Speedway in his career. Johnny Pursley raced his way to a third place finish and Ross Bailes diced through the field for a fourth place win. In Ronnie Hoover’s second race of the season, he was able to motor his car to a fifth place finish rounding out your Cool Shirts Top-5 from the June 4 race.
In what seems like a mirror image of just a month ago, Dennis Franklin came into 311 Speedway second in points trailing Luke Roffers similar to the scenario coming into the July 9 race. The 311 race was when Franklin took over the points lead with the victory by 41 points as Roffers had mechanical issues throughout the night.
“It’s going to come down to the last race of season with Rambo,” said Luke Roffers “We’re both fierce competitors but have a lot of respect for each other and let the best man win.”
Pit gates for the July 9 race will open at 4pm with Grandstands opening at 5pm and hot laps taking place at 7pm sharp. The Carolina Clash drivers meeting will take place at 6pm sharp. Also on the racing card will be the Steelhead Late Models, Fastrak Crate Late Models, 4-Cylinders, and U-Cars. 311 Speedway is also placing a special $2 OFF coupon in the Stokes County Newspaper for all local race fans, which is a very generous offer by a great race track.
Please make plans to join us on July 9, as the Carolina Clash rolls back into Madison, NC to tackle the high banked half mile at 311 Speedway. They don’t call it the “Daytona of Dirt” for nothing.
