Mike Marlar Set for Triple Header Weekend

Winfield, Tennessee (07/14/11) – Mike Marlar is preparing for a weekend that will see him take #1g Andy Stebbins Motorsports/Warrior House Car/Custom Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle in a trio of events in Georgia and Kentucky.

Last weekend, July 8th-9th, the team made the trek to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the annual Clash at the Mag, which was headlined by a $20,000 to win event was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). Fifty-seven Super Late Models entered the program, and things would start rough for Marlar on Friday night as struggles in time trials left him starting sixth on the grid for his heat race. Despite being mired deep in the field, Marlar would mount a great charge in his heat race to overtake race long leader, Billy Moyer Jr., late in the going to claim the race to claim the win. Via his heat race win, Mike earned the sixth starting spot for Saturday night's, 100 lap finale.
Saturday night would prove to be a long and wet night for fans and racers as late evening rains delayed the start of the program. Festivities would finally get underway about 11:30pm as the feature rolled onto a heavy, tacky track. Mike battled at the front of the field for the first 26 laps before fuel pressure issues caused him to roll to a stop. After several laps in the pits, Mike would briefly return to the racing surface to see if the issues were resolved, and to gain a few spots from other competitors, who retired. He would ultimately be credited with a 16th place finish. For the latest results, please visit www.LucasDirt.com.
For the upcoming weekend Mike has decided to bypass the LOLMDS events to enter three other events. The weekend will open on Thursday, July 14th at North Georgia Speedway (Chatsworth, Georgia) with a $5,300 to win, Southern Nationals event at the 1/3 mile oval. For more information on the event, please visit www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com and www.NorthGaSpeedway.net .

Friday night will find the Winfield Warrior pitted at Lake Cumberland Speedway ( , Kentucky) for a $4,000 to win, unsanctioned event. The Mulligan Plumbing 50 will pilot many of the region's top drivers against one another in a 50 lap event. For more information on the event, please visit www.LCSpeedway.net.

The weekend will conclude on Saturday night at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, Kentucky) with the 24th Annual Paul Butterball Woolridge Memorial. The 50 lap, unsanctioned event will pay $7,500 to win/$500 to start. For more information, please visit www.Richmond-Raceway.net .
