After torrential rains invaded the Bulls Gap, Tennessee area Thursday evening and Friday morning, series and track officials have elected to postpone tomorrow night’s Late Model Mania/Tennessee Hillbilly 50. Volunteer Speedway officials consulted with directors from both the FASTRAK Racing Series and the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series earlier today.
Volunteer Speedway, in preparation for this late model doubleheader, was in the process of working the track when rain set in and immediately stopped their progress. “Phyllis and Joe have always been great partners to work with”, stated Stan Lester. “They continuously work their race track in an effort to provide fans and drivers the best racing surface possible. It is unfortunate that inclement weather set in when the race track was opened up. All of the clay that was being reworked was washed down the high banks of the speedway”. Officials are already in the process of rescheduling the event as many FASTRAK, ULTIMATE, and Volunteer faithful were committed to this highly anticipated event.
