Late Model Preview
The Southern Ohio Speedway has always been known for producing exciting Late Model racing action. That was shown to the full extent last week when the 30 lap Late Model feature produced eight lead changes, three different leaders, a last lap pass for the win, and “The Showstopper” Tim Dohm going from the tail to first in 12 laps.

This week the Late Model division once again takes center stage for a $1,500 to win weekly show. Another strong field of Late Models is expected to be in attendance as SOS offers a payout that pays strong throughout the field. “The Salt Rock Express” Eddie Carrier Jr. heads into Friday with the Late Model points lead. Many other drivers come into Friday carrying momentum off of strong finishes in the Southern Showdown.

UMP Modified Preview
The UMP Modifieds are coming off of their biggest race of the season at SOS, a $3,000 to win special won by 2009 World 100 winner Bart Hartman. This week the Modifieds will have their first weekly show of the season, a $600 to win, $100 to start event.

With some of the best Modified drivers in the country located here in the southern Ohio region, another great field of Modifieds is expected to be in attendance on Friday. Chris Stotts led the other southern Ohio region drivers last Friday with a fifth place finish in the Southern Showdown.

Bomber Preview
It was a blast from the past last weekend when one of the region’s most successful Bomber drivers, Conard Newman, took the Bomber feature win. Newman is teamed up with Wayne Hughes in a combination that is sure to produce many feature wins. The battle for the Bomber track championship will heat up even more this week with Newman and David Dunn first and second in the points. A higher car count is expected in the Bomber division this week.

Sport Mod Preview
History will be made on Friday when H&L Motorsports will introduce the Sport Mod division to the southern Ohio region. Car counts will probably start out in the single digits, but the class is expected to grow tremendously within the next few years. The class is expected to experience double digit car counts by the end of the season as many people are building cars at the current time. Sport Mods are a limited Modified class with Modified chassis, stock engines, and stock transmissions.
