Westminster, S.C. --- The Westminster Speedway..."Johnny & Maries Place"... will host the Southeastern Latemodel Sportsman Series...one of the best "Touring Dirt Latemodel Sportsman Series" in the South East Friday night August,5th. This event dubbed as the "Carlee Heaton Memorial" which marks the series 2nd event of 2011 at Johnny & Maries Place, will be a (30) lap $1,000 to win Feature event. Raceteams from around the Southeastern region are expected to converge on the 4/10-mile clay High Banked facility. Sportsman drivers will qualify to determine their respective starting spots for their feature event. Drivers expected to be there is (2) time Series champion and current point leader, Parker Herring. Also expected to be in competition are Kenny Collins / David McCoy / Justin Sims and Ryan Bryson who make up the top (5) in current points.
The list of racers that could be in action at Westminster includes the most consistant driver Wesley English...Also expected are Monk Gulledge / Jimmy Ivester / Bubba Russell / Daniel Wilson / Jeff Crowder / Bill Morgan / Jimmy Feltman and several more local drivers.
Also in competition at the "Carlee Heaton Memorial" will be the Super Stock 4Cyl's / the Super Street / Street Stock 4Cyl's / Pure Stock V/8's and the Front Wheel Drive divisions. These Divisions will run heat races to set the fields for their feature events. Westminster Speedway rules will apply to all divisions (with the exception of) the Super Stock 4Cyl's....They will compete under Harris & Travelers Rest rules.
The Fastrak Crates & Hobby divisions will not be on Fridays program (however) the Southeastern Latemodel Sportsman rules will allow the Crates to compete with a ("604"...200 lb) & ("602"...150 lb) weight break and the addition of a full (12") Rear Spoiler...(PLUS) the highest finishing Crate will recieve a ($100) Bonus.
