R.J. Conley Records Third Win of 2011 Season; Conley’s Prepare for Doubleheader Weekend!
(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley racked up his third feature win of the 2011 racing season on Friday night, July 22 at the nearby Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio! After qualifying well and finishing second in the dash, R.J. led flag-to-flag in the A-Main to score the $1,500 triumph. His dad Delmas Conley won the dash and started on the pole of the feature before sliding back to finish fourth behind only R.J., Harold Redman, Jr., and Paul Davis.
On Saturday evening, July 23, R.J. and Delmas both trekked to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a $2,000 to win battle. Delmas started eighth on the grid in the main event and advanced to second to finish only behind winner Zach Dohm. R.J. was up to second in the A-Main before he banged wheels with another competitor, which broke his thumb and caused him to slip to a seventh place effort. Rod Conley took his #71r machine to the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday and wound up thirteenth in a $5,000 to win 'North/South 100' tune-up race.
Up next for all three Conley Motorsports, Inc. drivers will be a big doubleheader weekend (July 29-30) at a pair of local venues. The Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg will play host to a $2,000 to win unsanctioned program on Friday night, while the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth will host a $3,000 to win STARS MDRL Series showdown on Saturday evening.
