STARS VRS makes first trip to Volunteer Speedway on August 6th paying $3,000 to win

SOMERSET, KY (July 30, 2011)—The STARS Volunteer Racing Series by Arizona Sport Shirts will make their first-ever appearance to the Joe and Phyllis Loven owned Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on Saturday Night August 6th.

With this being a back to school special and the first-ever series visit to Volunteer Speedway by the STARS Volunteer Racing Series in their sophomore season, the track wanted to showcase the event by doing a special ‘Driver and Fan Appreciation Night’ for August 6th.

By this, the track will be only charging $10.00 to get into the main grandstands for Adults with ages 12-15 being admitted for $8.00 and Children 11 and under admitted for free. For the drivers, pit passes will be $25.00 and the series has decided NOT to charge an entry fee to the Late Model teams that night.

The STARS VRS Late Models will be competing for the $3,000 first place prize and $300 to start as they will have a complete show of Practice, Time Trials locking in the top-10 qualifiers, 10-lap Consolation races and the 40-lap main event.

The STARS VRS Late Model tire rule for this event will be as follows: Open Front and Rear tires must punch a minimum of 40 before any competition. Series officials will still be taking random tire samples.

Also on the racing card on August 6th will be the Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro (Crate) Late Models and the ‘Gunslingers of Kingsport’ sponsored Hobby Stock division. The Grandstand gates and Pit gates are slated to open at 5:00 p.m. with Hot Laps slated for 8:00 p.m. The Volunteer Speedway is located off of Exit 23 on Interstate 81. Then go on Highway 11E for approximately 200 yards, track is on the left.
