First trip to Southern Ohio Speedway for the STARS MDRL travelers is on August 5th
SOMERSET, KY (July 30, 2011)—On the first night of a double-header, the STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League by Arizona Sport Shirts will make their first-ever appearance to the Southern Ohio Speedway on Friday Night August 5th.
The track, located in Wheelersburg, Ohio will host the STARS MDRL Late Models for the 7th Annual running of the CT Promotions Iron-Man Classic which ran six previous seasons in Kentucky. The event pays $5,000 to win / $375 to start and will feature a complete show of Practice, Group Time Trials, Heat Races, Consolation Races and the 50-lap feature.
The UMP Modifieds, Bombers and Sport Mods will also be on the racing card. The Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. and the drivers meeting will be at 6:45 p.m. while hot laps are slated for 7:15 p.m. Adult General Admission is $20.00 and Adult Pit Passes are $30.00.
The STARS MDRL tire rule for the Southern Ohio Speedway event is as follows: Open Front with Rear tires: Hoosier LM40/1300/1600 and American Racer 44/56, soft tires must punch 40 cold and hard tires must punch 60 cold and series officials will still be taking random tire samples to be sent to the lab. Steel Block engines must weigh 2200 lbs. minimum and Open Engines must weigh 2300 lbs. minimum with a pound per lap burn-off in all races. The STARS MDRL Entry Fee is $40.00 for members and $50.00 for non-members.

The track is located at 1408 Tick Ridge Road; Wheelersburg, OH 45694. The track is located by taking US 52 towards Wheelersburg. And get off on the State Route 140/South Webster exit ramp. Proceed on SR 140 for 2.2 miles and then turn left at Gammps BP to get on County Road 15. Stay on County Road 15 for one mile and then turn right to get on Tick Ridge Road, then follow that road 1.5 miles and the track is located on the right.
