How To Measure Tubes On Rearend????

Looking to measure tubes on my winters rearend. Where do I take the measurements from??? Bell to birdcage??? Bell to Hub?? Please help.... thanks

look at page 56

tells you to measure the tube that you can see then add 5" to it.
