FASTRAK Toccoa “Shriners 40” rescheduled for September 17th
The FASTRAK SE/ME Tour event scheduled for Toccoa Speedway this weekend has been moved to September 17th due to weather channel forecast of 50% rain. The first tropical storm of the year “Emily” is moving in on the East coast and storms are coming in along with it.
“We wanted to get the word out to everyone asap” stated Series Founder Stan Lester. “With the weather channel already stating 50% chance of storms and now the tropical storm moving in on top of it we didn’t want fans and or race teams to travel all this way only to be rained out. We have had more rain outs this year than we have had in the last 7 years put together. When you have fuel prices as high as they are now plus people really watching their pennies, we need to be as frugal as possible. We will run the event on September 17th . Nothing will change. It will still be the Shriners 40, it will still be the David Pritchett Memorial. Maybe the weather will be a little more dependable that time of the year plus hopefully not so hot. We look forward to seeing everyone at that time”.
