View Full Version : Diamonds on top this week in the CMC

Cincy Mod Championship
08-03-2011, 08:58 PM
The U.S. Race Gear Cincinnati Modified Championship presented by Gabbard's Mt. Orab Ford and B&B Auto Care would see Diamonds on top this weekend. At Moler Raceway Park on Friday night Matt Hamilton would win his 2nd CMC race of the year at that track. It was his 7th of the season in his Diamond Chassis and CMC career win number 15. Weasel Rhoades would come home 2nd but only add 1 point to his yearly total. Matt Hamilton continues to replace finishes with wins and would add 12 points to his total to close within 10 points of the lead. Doug Adkins would come home 3rd. Lawrenceburg would rain out on Saturday which would mean a larger car count and more points available At Florence Speedway. Rhoades would need a top 3 finish to gain points while Hamilton would only need a top 5 to increase his point total. Both would run into trouble and Shawn Tolson would use his Diamond to claim his 2nd CMC victory and 1st this year after an absence from racing. The big point gainer on the night would be Pete Holt as he would score a 2nd in his 15th CMC race of the year. He is currently 3rd in the points and will now start to replace bad point nights with every good finish. Larry Pickelheimer Jr. would come home 3rd in a retro paint scheme honoring his father who passed in early July.

All three of these CMC tracks will be right back in action with Moler on Friday Night and Lawrenceburg and Florence back to it on Saturday. Please remember to support the CMC sponsors whenever possible.
