LAMAR SCOGGINS TOPLESS-30 WINNER NORTH GA LATE MODEL SPECIAL
Chatsworth/Dalton, GA (8/04/11) --- Late Model Veteran Lamar Scoggins (# 32) of Georgetown, Tennessee added North GA Speedway to his WINS column Thursday night in the Topless-30 Limited LM special event at the Chatsworth area dirt track. The evening didn't start well for the "M&S Motors, Chattanooga Auto Auction, Chambers Equipment Sales, Bodies by Rick Hixson" GRT / Race Engine Design powered racer, qualifying well outside the Top-10 in a stout field of almost 30-competitors. Fortunately by heat race time, OLD YELLER came around, and Scoggins found himself on the outside FRONT ROW JOE starting spot along side Greg Matin for the feature. As the duo took to the green for the 30-lap $1,200 to-WIN "A" Main feature, it would be Martin showing his East Tennessee muscle leading early. Scoggins didn't give-up and would make the winning move just a few laps past the halfway point. Proverbial teammate LiL' John Owenby finished second with local North GA Speedway hotshoes Shannon Bearden, Tod Hernandez and Spencer Singleton rounding out the Top-5 officially.
