*first problem 500 lift cam having problems with mouse trap clips breaking on the exhaust side broke three at once *second problem car will not idle getting pull over in the carb changed to another carb same result i run an electric fuel pump*finally went to set ignition timing started car run fine hooked timing light to # plug car started missing and would not run unhooked light from plug wire car cleared up and started running car turns between 7800 to 8000 rpms couldn't get over 7100 all this in one night any suggestions

Are clips on correctly?

Check fuel pressure, get a new timing light!

On the timing light issue-- if by some mistake you hooked to the negative side of the coil, you would get the result that you stated. I did this by accident one time and the engine would not run very well. Rechecked and found I had hooked to the neg side of coil. Hooked to positive and worked fine. I would give it another try with that timing light.
