A friend of mine gave me a black valve cover gasket for my 2300 tonite, he said he don't know where he found it, but i want to find a spare one. It is a black gasket and it has metal in it with rubber around the metal, fits good on the head and he said it's better than the blue felpro ones, wanted to know if anyone has seen or used one before, seems to be a good gasket.

that's a ranger gasket. don't remember the years but it's the last few years of the 2.3/2.5 engine. best gasket made for the 2.3/2.5. i believe it is only available from ford. it's the only gasket i use on my fords.

X2...........For sure comes in the 98-up 2.5 Ranger.I think about 25.00 from Ford but worth it.You probably don't even need a spare, pretty indestructable.

i only liked the blue ones for street engines that you never pulled the valve cover off. i would almost rather have a cork one then a blue one if i pulled the cover off very often.

Yeah I've had to buy a few valve cover gasket (http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/valve_cover_gasket~pop.html) at retail, and was hoping to pick one up that's collecting dust for cheap. I'm also willing to trade the use (with shipping) of my timing tool for one

Ive used the same blue felpro v.c. gasket for 4 yrs. now with no leaks whatsoever. Maybe just lucky...

Esslinger also stocks the valve cover gasket you are looking for. They are standard on their Midget motors and last almost forever.
