Chattanooga, TN (8/19/11) --- Sometimes you've gotta win, past the checkered flag... and Late Model veteran Lamar Scoggins (# 32) of Georgetown, Tennessee did just that Friday night at Boyd's Speedway. Scoggins again took a convincing flag-to-flag victory in the Boyd's Speedway Steel-head Late Model feature beating Kevin Gibson, despite his late chargin efforts on the high-side of the track. Beginning the night with the # 32 "M&S Motors, Chambers Equipment Sales, Bodies by Rick Hixson" GRT / Race Engine Design team utilizing the POLE after winning the 1st heat race, Scoggins raced to the lead with Crossville TN's Brandon Williams in-tow at the start of the 25-lapper. The battle would take some late race cautions and see Gibson almost past Scoggins for the lead, but on the greem/white/checkered restart it would be all Scoggins. The Rick and Marcia Hixson owned team would end up involved in a triple protest, of the Top-3 finishers after the race was concluded. Following Scoggins across the finish line (unofficially) were; Gibson, Williams, Jamie Perry and John Owenby. Official results were not available from Boyd's Speedway at presstime.
