I need a little help with understanding the balance bar setup for brake bias. I can crank my bias all the way from one side to the other and when I hit the brake in the garage it seems like the front rod moves first. I have the front rod long and the back rod shorter as I thought this would give me more rear brakes, but now I'm not sure.
Does anybody know a good way to tell which way your bias is favoring? is it the rod that moves first? Thanks for your help,
Armond

bias gauges are almost a must, I would add some.

I ordered some today. I had a set and I diddn't think they worked cause they would always read 600 for front and rear. Thanks for the tip, diddn't even think about bias gauges.

Here is how I was shown to set the rod lengths. Set your adjustment in the middle (If 16 turns from front to back set it at 8 turns). Now press the brake pedal with normal pressure. Now while pedal is pressed adjust rods until balance bar is parallel to the firewall. This should get you close.
