The USA World 50 will be this Friday night August 26th. The race is steeped in tradition with past winners being Tom Helfrich, Phil Gregory, Jeff Purvis, Billy Moyer, Bill Frye, Brian Shirley, Jason Feger, Terry English, Randy Sellers and Jerry Inman just to name a few.
The race is a MARS/UMP Challenge event that will feature the stars and cars of the MARS series taking on the stars and cars of UMP. Unique to this series of races is that the tire rule is 40/55's only. Usually MARS goes on a passing points format but for this series one lap group qualifying will take place.
The First race in the 3 day series will take place at the Highland Speedway on Thursday, with Paducah being on Friday and then they will travel on to I-55 for the final race.
Drivers expected at Paducah are Billy Moyer Jr, and Billy Moyer Sr, Jason Feger, Jack Sullivan, Dennis Erb, Randy Korte, Rodney Melvin, Scott James Brad Looney, Terry Phillips, Jeremy Payne, Darrell Mooneyham, Leroy Johnson, Jesse Stoval, RC Whitwell, Nick Lyons all going against our Ultra talented local contingent consisting of Terry and Tanner English, Kevin Cole, Jason Riggs, Jason McBride, Tim Brown, Randy Sellers, Jarryd Holhouser, Jeff Walston, Adam Ray, Tony Vancil plus several others.
Other divisions racing will be the UMP Modifieds, UMP Pro Late Models, and the UMP Street Stocks.
Pit gate will open at 3 pm with the grandstand gate opening at 5 pm. Hot Laps will be at 630 with qualifying starting at 7 pm and racing starting at 7:30 pm.
