The Dirt Late Model SUPER NATIONALS begins this weekend at the infamous ½ mile Super Speedway in Rural Retreat VA. Known as the ‘best kept secret’ in dirt racing today, Wythe Raceway will host the first ever Dirt Late Model SUPER NATIONALS.
Friday September 2nd begins the weekend with the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series event and the FASTRAK Pro (crate) late model series. Qualifying, heats and 2 features will take place along with some of the best dirt late model racing in the country.
Saturday September 3rd it all begins again as both late model series hold 2 complete shows once again giving the teams and fans all they can handle for a weekend of racing. This will be an event no true dirt fan wants to miss!
Saturday will have a special allure for Chris “Smokey” Madden as it will be the rainout event from the previous Mountain Mayhem in which Volunteer Speedway and Wythe were holding together only to have the Wythe event rained out. Madden won at Volunteer so this will give him the opportunity to pick up the $1500 bonus that was originally planned on top of the $4000 on Friday night and the $5000 on Saturday night.
The FASTRAK $250,000 chase to the National Championship will be winding down with just a few events left for the season. Friday night will be a $2000 to win SE/ME Tour event and Saturday $3000 to win for the highly acclaimed series. David Smith leads Lee Cooper by only 8 points as they go into the weekend.
Fans and teams will have the chance to redeem their rain checks from the previously rained out ULTIMATE Super Late Model event at ‘face value’. Just being them with you to the ticket gates.
