Winged sprint cars are returning to Lincoln Speedway this Friday night, September 2nd. The MOWA Winged Sprint Cars will be in action, along with Modifieds, Street Stocks ($500 to win), and the Pro Late Models. The last time sprint cars were at Lincoln Speedway in July, Korey Weyant took home the checkered flag. This was Korey’s first Midwest Open Wheel Association win.

Jared Hull is leading the series’ points, as they commence upon Lincoln, however Jimmy Hurley is coming on strong after his strong 2nd place finish at LaSalle a couple of weeks ago. Only 8 points separate Robbie Standridge and Jim Moughan Jr for the 3rd place spot in the series.

With the end of the season drawing near, racers want to get on the track as much as they can. The point’s races might have already been determined for the track championship, but that won’t change the racing style. It’s often said that racing isn’t a hobby, it’s in the blood, and for these drivers and crews they will be racing hard and going after the win.

Racing action will start with hot laps at 6:30pm. Admission to the grandstands will be $15 for adults and $30 for pit admission. The speedway is located at the Logan County Fairgrounds, 11th & Jefferson St. in Lincoln, IL. For more information visit www.lincolnspeedway.org. In case of inclement weather on race day, please monitor the track site forum for the latest event information.
