CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series heads to the “Black Ice” of Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS on Sunday night for a $2,000-to-win 40-lap event, Round 13 of the 2011 season. The top traveling drivers of the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS will take on the local favorites at The Mag.

Dan Breuer of Troutman, NC leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings going into the weekend with two wins on the season. Two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Champion David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN is second in the points chase, 36-points behind Breuer.

Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA is the Ironman of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and is third in the series point standings. Turner will be looking to compete in his 119th consecutive NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS race, the only driver to compete in every series event held since its inception in 2005.

VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year point leader Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings. VP Racing Fuels, the Official Racing Fuel of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series, will pay $5,000 to the top rookie driver in the point standings at the end of the season.

Also expected at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Sunday night are the drivers that make up the fifth through tenth spots in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series point standings, and top competitors in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is in the fifth spot followed by Steve Cooke of Mt. Airy, NC, Mark Tice of Avon, MS, Frank Wilson of Harold, FL, Mark Rosner of Maryville, TN, and Tootie Arnold of Bude, MS. Tice, Wilson, and Arnold are also VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year candidates.

Magnolia Motor Speedway always provides two and three-wide action around the 3/8-mile black clay oval when the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series regulars take on the top regional and local favorites. Over 40 drivers from eight states are expected at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Sunday night.

The top NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competitors at Magnolia Motor Speedway include Jeremy Shaw of Millport, AL, Chris Ragan of Ramer, TN, Jamey Boland of Cuba, AL, Shay Knight of Columbus, MS, Neil Baggett of Shannon, MS, T..K. King of Columbus, MS, Mark Stokes of Steens, MS, and Evan Ellis of Plantersville, MS.

Shaw and Ragan each have two NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region wins this season at Magnolia Motor Speedway. Boland, Knight, Baggett, and King each have one NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region victory at The Mag in 2011.

Mike Boland of Cuba, AL is the defending champion of the race, one of his ten NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series career wins that puts him second on the all-time list. Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS also took a NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS win at Magnolia Motor Speedway last season.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will compete in Qualifying , Heat Races, a B-Main Race, and the $2,000-to-win 40-lap main event on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway. Gates open at 4 p.m. with NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series pre-race registration and technical inspection from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The drivers meeting is at 6:30 p.m. and racing is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
