Brady Smith Reaches Victory Lane Twice Over Labor Day Weekend; Eyes River Cities!

(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Solon Springs, Wisconsin ace Brady Smith's 2011 win total now stands at five following a stellar Labor Day holiday weekend, which included reaching victory lane on two different occasions! On Thursday night, September 1, the Proctor Speedway in Proctor, Minnesota played host to the annual running of the 'Silver 1000' for WISSOTA Late Models. Brady started eighth on the grid and blasted to the front of the field to lead the final eleven circuits. Counting lap money, Brady earned $2,740 for his first 'Silver 1000' triumph, which came over Tom Waseleski, Jr., Marshall Fegers, Jake Redetzke, and Harry Hanson!

On Saturday evening, September 3, the #2 team rolled into the Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota for the two-day 'Labor Day Shootout.' Brady started ninth in the $3,500 to win show on Saturday and had worked his way up to the fifth position when he lost fuel pressure, which resulted in a disappointing twenty-second place effort. The driver known as the "Prodigy" rebounded on Sunday by dominating the 'Labor Day Shootout' finale at Hibbing from the sixteenth starting spot. Brady claimed his fifth victory of the year and the $3,500 payday by beating Darrell Nelson, Terry Lillo, Jeff Provinzino, and John Henkemeyer to the checkers! Full results from each of the three Labor Day weekend special events can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

“It was an excellent Labor Day weekend for us,” exclaimed Smith earlier this week. “Everyone associated with this team has worked so hard and in the last few weeks, everything has really started to click. We had a great car at both Proctor and Hibbing and were able to pass some cars at both places. I really think we had the car to beat on Saturday night too, but lost fuel pressure and that put an end to our run to the front. Hopefully, we can keep running strong this weekend at River Cities!”

Next up for the Brady Smith Racing team will be a trip to the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota on September 9-10 for the 5th Annual ‘John Seitz Memorial.’ Friday’s portion of the program will feature heat races and the $920 to win Go Hard or Go Home Pole Dash. On Saturday night, the 92-lap feature event will headline the weekend and the winner of the WISSOTA special will receive a hefty $9,200.
