2.3 ford dist

does anyone know if the bronze gear for a 2.3 ford fits any other ford motor such as 351w or 302 or 351c or any other. just looking for another option other that esslinger to buy them from.

if you go to ebay and type in ford 2.3l escort bronze distributor gear it comes up for 8.49 each. i thought the pic looked like the right gear so i ordered one and sure enough it was the exact match. if you get them from esslinger you get a shim to go under the gear. well if you look at this gear and then esslingers it is obvious esslinger is just machining .034 off of the bottom of the gear and giving you a shim. i went to the parts store and got 6 of those machined shims for 89 cents and cut .034 thousands off of the gear and it was exactly the same just not 73 dollars that esslinger charges.
