FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hesston Track Improvements Continue for “The Ultimate” UFo 2011 Finale!

(Mars, PA) Numerous track improvements have been made to the Hesston Speedway over the past two seasons as it becomes a shining star in the Eastern US racing scene. In preparation for “The Ultimate” & “Challenger Super Championships” on October 21-22, even more improvements are being made to the facility to accommodate the race teams and race fans for the biggest event ever in the track’s 50-year history.

Track improvements already include a relocated outside pit area, expanded spectator parking, expanded seating, track reconfiguration, new concessions, the new White House Museum, and new track signage. For “The Ultimate” & “Challenger Super Championships”, additional leveling has been done in the back straight viewing ramp area in order to accommodate campers inside the track gates. Campers will be able to camp for free in the back area of the ramp viewing area with the purchase of tickets for both races days. Additional free camping will be available outside the track gates at the Eriksen Well Drilling buildings at the intersection of Redstone Ridge Road and Race Track Road. A limited number of prime camping spaces will be available along the front of the back straight ramp area with a view of the race track for $20/night plus race tickets.

3 pit areas will be implemented for “The Ultimate” & “Challenger Super Championships” in order to accommodate a large car count for the event. Super Late Models will pit in the new turn 2 pit area, which will be extended for this event to accommodate more haulers. Semi-Lates and B-Cadets will utilize the infield pit area. With a ramp already in place leading to the track, the parking area below turns 3-4 will be used for the Roadrunner pits on Friday night and the Hobby-Modified pits on Saturday. Additional wheel fencing is also being added to turns 3-4 to shield this pit area.

The excitement and tradition of the Challenger Raceway will continue at “The Ultiamte” & “Challenger Super Championships” as the event moves to Hesston. Over $65,000 of prize money will be offered for the same 5 divisions that competed at Challenger, under similar rules sets. Super Late Models will compete for a total of $10,000 to win with a feature event each night. Semi-Lates (limited/steel block/crate late models) will race for $2,000 and B-Cadets (street/pro-stocks) will race for $1,200 based on a 2 day show. The Hobby-Modified (pure stock/charger/hobby) feature winner will receive $700 with the Roadrunner (stock fwd 4-cylinders) winner receiving $400.

Super Late Models will compete under the multi-weight UFo rules set. Semi-Lates, B-Cadets and Hobby-Modified will also compete under a similar rules package which allows different motor and equipment combinations with weight and/or spoiler variances. Virtually all cars in the region that compete in those classes will be legal and competitive under this concept. Rules are currently posted on “The Ultimate” webpage located at http://www.hesstonspeedway.com. “The Ultimate” & “Challenger Super Championships” will offer great payoffs for all classes will be offered to the race teams with no car entry fees in any class.

“Mega-Blitz Mach1” will start off the weekend on Friday night, October 21 with a $2,000 to win, Super Late Model complete, non-point program with a 30-lap feature event. The Semi-Lates and B-Cadets will race in qualifying heat races. A full racing program for the Roadrunners with the Super Championship feature will take place on Friday.

“The Ultimate” on Saturday night, October 22 will showcase a 61-lap championship finale to the UFo season paying $8,000 to the winner. Semi-Lates will race for $2,000 in a 44-lap Super Championship while the Cadets will race for $1,200 in a 33-lap Super Championship. Hobby-Modifieds will compete in a full racing program on Saturday including their 22-lap Super Championship feature.

In case of a rain out on Friday October 21, an alternative 1-day program will be run on Saturday, October 22 with the UFo Super Late Models competing for $8,000, Semi-Lates racing 38 laps for $1,400 to win, B-Cadets racing 28 laps for $850 to win and the Hobby-Modifieds racing in their $700 to win Super Championship. The alternative program will only require teams to purchase 1 day pit passes.
