King Of The Mountain Fall Classic at SMS Saturday, September 24th
Maryville,TN (9/18/11) The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will pay a visit for the third time this season to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville,Tennessee on Saturday, September 24th for the running of the 'King Of The Mountain Fall Classic'.
The series previous two stops saw some great wheel to wheel action as Jimmy Owens of Newport, Tennessee claimed the $5,000 to win back in April while Brian Reese of Sharpsburg, Georgia claimed his first ever Super Late Model win back in June along with the $5,000 first place prize.
Saturday night's fifty-lap, $5,000 to win event will feature a complete show for SAS Super Late Models including VP Race Fuels Time Trials, Hoosier Tire South B-Mains and the fifty-lap, $5,000 to win, $300 to start A-Main.
The 2011 SAS points battle is really shaping up to be a tight one as William Thomas of Phenix City, AL has a very slim lead on second place Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville. David Payne, Tommy Kerr and Brian Reese each have mathematical shots at the title while battling one another for third through fifth.
In addition to SAS Super Late Models, the Crate Late Models will compete for $1,000 to win; the Modified Street Division will compete for $500 to win and the Pure-Mini Division will be in action for $250 to win!
Gates are scheduled to open at 5:00pm with the drivers meeting slated for $6:30pm and hot laps at 7:00pm.
