The World’s Largest Grassroots Dirt Late Model Championship Begins Soon – Over $250,000 Up for Grabs

Carnesville, Georgia - In a time of economic woes over $250,000 will be paid out to the FASTRAK Pro Late Model teams after the 3-race GRAND NATIONALS shootout in October. Each Region of the FASTRAK Pro Late Model Series will host the first of the three events in their own individual region. Then all the teams will come together and race it at Volunteer Speedway over the course of 2 nights. Each eligible team will start with ZERO points in their respective Grand Nationals opener. They will then bring the points they earn in the first event with them to the 2-race finale in which the ‘best of the best’ will be on hand vying for the $30,000 1st place prize and the title of FASTRAK Racing Series National Champion.

2011 will bring a little different twist than in years past with each team taking home a minimum of $500 for nights 2 and 3 provided they participate in all 3 nights of the GRAND NATIONALS. And instead of the customary $150 entry fee each night the FASTRAK Racing Series has cut the entry fee to a one-time cost of $150 for both the night 2 and 3 events. That equates to each team receiving $650 just for showing up and participating in the GRAND NATIONALS. “We wanted to do something entirely different this year. We are very much aware of the still very slow economy and in the FASTRAK Racing Series our goal is to look out after everyone involved. We are guaranteeing every team a minimum of $500 in point money if they show up for all 3 events. We feel like this gives them the opportunity to come and participate in a national caliber event that pays well without the worry of breaking their bank. Everyone leaves with something in their hand. That’s what FASTRAK is all about”. stated CEO/Founder Stan Lester.

In 2010 30 year old racer A.J. Diemel of Bonduel, Wisconsin conquered the FASTRAK GRAND NATIONALS and wrote his name in the record books as the $30,000 FASTRAK National Champion. Diemel, who was the 2009 FASTRAK Weekly Racing Series National Champion, entered the final event of the 2010 GRAND NATIONALS sitting just a few points back of Centerville, Pennsylvania’s Max Blair. By the end of the night however Diemel was able to overtake Blair on the strength of his 3rd place finish in the finale at Wythe Raceway. “It’s a good accomplishment. Those guys are pretty much the best in the business in the crate stuff down there. It’s a good accomplishment to know you can run with those guys. To be able to run for that amount of money, it’s a good deal.” Diemel said.

As the final few races of the season go off to settle the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing National Championship and the individual FASTRAK Regional Championships, the first night of the FASTRAK GRAND NATIONALS has been scheduled in all the regions for Saturday, October 8th with an open practice scheduled for the night before. Rounds 2 and 3 are scheduled for Friday, October 21st and Saturday, October 22nd at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. Volunteer will also host an open practice session on Thursday, October 20th. For information or directions visit www.volunteerspeedway.com

THE FASTRAK Racing Series is based on the GM Performance Parts Crate Engine Program utilizing both their 602 and 604 engine models. All teams utilize Hoosier Racing Tire as the “spec tire” brand of the FASTRAK Racing Series. The combination of these two programs gives a Dirt Late Model Race Team a tremendous savings on their engine and tire expense. The National Championship of the FASTRAK Racing Series is one of the largest in the entire world. The FASTRAK Racing Series is in its 9th year of operation and competes across the United States in 6 different regions.
