Bluegrass Speedway Season Complete; Championship Celebration October 30

Bardstown, KY-September 25, 2011- Bluegrass Speedway track promoters David and Anita Ferrell have completed their 12th season at the ½ mile high-banked clay oval located just outside beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY and would like to thank all patrons for their support during the 2011 racing season, even with the track suffering a record eight rainouts over the course of the season.

The final touch of the 2011 race season at Bluegrass Speedway will take place on Sunday afternoon October 30 as the track will present its annual Championship Awards Celebration that will honor the top ten drivers in track points in each of the track’s four respective divisions.

The 2011 Championship Awards Celebration will take place on Sunday October 30 and will be held at Samuels Hall, located at the Nelson County Fairgrounds, directly next door to Bluegrass Speedway. The dress for the event is casual. Each driver in the final top ten track points count, along with one guest, will be admitted free to the program, while all others will cost $10, with children age 12 and under being $5.

Activities for the 2011 Bluegrass Speedway Championship Awards Celebrations will see honored drivers and their guest allowed to enter Samuels Hall beginning at 1:00 p.m. There will be a meal served beginning at 2:00 p.m., while the championship awards celebration and recognition of racers will begin at 3:15 p.m. To make your reservations and reserve meals, please call Anita Ferrell at (859) 854-6922. The deadline to RSVP will be Thursday October 27.

Bluegrass Speedway completed its 2011 racing season on September 24 and feature event winners included Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Avral Thompson of Loretto, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Mike Bailey of Clarksville, IN in UMP Street Stocks.

Bluegrass Speedway track champions for the 2011 racing season are Tim Rivers of Salem, IN in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds, Robbie Settles of New Hope, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman, and Scott Beeler of Louisville, KY in UMP Street Stocks.

Bluegrass Speedway is located at 2221 New Haven Road at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 31-E and exit 21 of the Martha Layne Collins (Bluegrass) Parkway. David and Anita Ferrell are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Saturday evenings from mid-April through September.
